There is heavy traffic congestion in the morning and evening from Poonamallee High Road to Chennai Central since the metro rail works are going on in full swing. Because of this Southern Railway will bring in changes in the pattern of road traffic from 15th June.

Commercial vehicles such as taxis and call taxis will be permitted only through the Moore Market Complex entry of Chennai Central railway station. Separate space is earmarked for dropping and picking up passengers. Moreover, adequate parking facility is also available in the area.
