People flood Koyambedu Wholesale Market to buy tomatoes

Chennaites are rushing to Koyambedu Wholesale Market to buy tomatoes because the price is less while compared to the retail vegetable shops.
As on Wednesday, the tomatoes were sold between Rs 75 and Rs 80 at Koyambedu Wholesale market. At the same time, the tomatoes are sold between Rs 80 and Rs 85 per kilo in the retail vegetable shops.
But the vegetable shops in Nungambakkam, Mylapore, T Nagar, Adyar, Ambattur and Thiruvanmiyur sold tomatoes for Rs 95.
Housewives, hotel employees and small merchants rush to Koyambedu market from various parts of Chennai because they can save Rs 10.
