Chennai Police revive bicycle patrolling

Chennai Police will be very soon patrolling in cycle to nab the thieves.
Reverting to the time-tested policing method, the city police is all set to have bicycle patrolling to increase presence and enhance community rapport which is crucial in preventing crime.
In order to prevent the present day crimes, this change is quite necessary. There are 88 teams who patrol in the nights. Each team uses one car and two motor cycles. Police need bikes and cars to go fast to the crime spots. At the same time cycle patrol is very useful than car and bikes.
The police while patrolling in cycle can clearly hear the sound in a house. The police can silently observe house breaking. This patrol can easily nab the criminals.
Each police station will be given two cycles. A police official said that this cycle patrol will be introduced soon.
