Tamil Nadu to receive 1125MW more electricity

It is likely that 1125MW electricity will be produced by the two units in Kudankulam nuclear power plants.
 
At present, two units are functional to produce 1000MW electricity at Kudankulam nuclear power plant. The central ministry of power has allotted this produce to the regional beneficiaries in the south.
 
Accordingly, Tamil Nadu gets 562.50MW, Andhra Pradesh gets 50MW, Karnataka gets 221MW, Pondicherry gets 33.50MW, and Kerala gets 133MW. Considering this, Tamil Nadu gets 1125MW power when the total produce received from both units is tot up.
 
The central government has given its nod to set up 3rd and 4th units with 1000MW capacity each. This will be set up with the help from Russia. This has also got financial aid from the government. Construction works are gathering pace now. Once these two begin functioning, Tamil Nadu will receive Rs 1125 MW more electricity. However, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalitha has insisted the central government to furthermore increase electricity allotment to the state.
