The General Secretary of the Private Primary, Matric, and Higher Secondary school owners’ Association, Mr. Nandhakumar, informed that all the private primary, matric, and higher secondary schools will remain closed tomorrow as an extension of support for the strike declared by all the farmers and traders in Tamil Nadu protesting against the attacks on Tamilians in Karnataka state.
So, 18000 private primary, matric, and higher secondary schools will not function tomorrow (Friday, 16th September). Instead, they will be open on Saturday, 17th September. So, the quarterly examination scheduled for tomorrow (16th) will be conducted on 17th September.
As all the shops in the Koyambedu vegetable market will be participating in the strike. So, all the 430 wholesale vegetable shops in Koyambedu market will remain closed.
Tamil Nadu Milk supply agents and labour welfare union have also informed that they will participate in tomorrow’s strike. So, all milk supply outlets and distribution outlets will remain closed from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM. However, Aavin card holders can get milk from their respective booths. The sales of private milk suppliers will be affected.
As all the Omnibus owners are also participating in tomorrow’s strike, it has been announced that buses will not run between 6.00 AM and 5.00 PM.
On the occasion of the general strike on 16th September, Friday (tomorrow) all petrol bunks will also remain closed.
