Passport seva kendras to be set up in 11 post offices in Tamil Nadu

The passport office has announced that it has planned to set up 11 passport seva kendras in 11 post offices in Tamil Nadu including Kanyakumari and Virudhunagar.
In order to facilitate the public with an easier and quicker procedure to get their passports, the Ministry of External Affairs and the post offices have jointly set up passport seva kendras in head post offices and other post offices.
It was planned in the 1st Phase to set up 86 post office passport seva kendras throughout the country.
Out of this, the passport seva kendras have already been set up in 52 post offices and have been functioning.
The activities are proceeding in full swing for setting up the passport seva kendras in the balance 34 post offices.
This measure has met with huge popularity among the public. So, it has been planned to set up passport seva kendras in 149 post offices in the next Phase.
In Tamil Nadu, the passport seva kendras will be set up in the head post offices in 11 districts at Cuddalore, Dindigul, Namakkal, Perambalur, Pudhukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Tirupur, Villupuram, Virudhunagar, and Kanyakumari. A passport seva kendras will be set up in Karaikkal post office as well.
A total of 235 post offices throughout the country will have passport seva kendras.
