Ever since the Vandalur zoo was opened in the year 1985 in Chennai it has been attracting many visitors. People throng this zoo in huge numbers during the holiday season and in the weekends is known. The people of Chennai must feel proud that this zoo is the largest zoological park in India. This Arignar Anna Zoological park or vandalur zoo is making many heads turn now.
On Thursday, as many as 7 wolf puppies were released into the exhibit area and these puppies are grabbing the eyeballs of many visitors now. On 26th of August this year, these 7 puppies were born to she-wolf Keerthi is well known. Under the animal exchange programme, vandalur zoo got Keerthi from the popular Jaipur zoo in the month of September in 2016.The deputy director of vandalur zoo, Sudha Ramen, spoke about how in the year 2016 the zoo received two pairs of wolves that is 2 males from Mysuru zoo and 2 females from Jaipur zoo. She then highlighted that one pair Keerthi and Vasanthan were mated. She finally threw light on the fact that this was the second time the puppies were born to the pair and in the month of December 2018 as many as 5 puppies were born.
