The Chennai school students could take mobile phones to their schools now

This is age of technology and electronic gadgets have become part and parcel of our lives is known fact. The school students carrying mobile phone was considered as a violation till now rather than a necessity. This would not be there anymore.

The sensational piece of news that has come out is the schools have lifted their ban on the mobile phones and the students would be able to carry their mobile phones to their schools. School students carrying mobile phones would no longer be considered as a violation hereafter.

The principal of highly famous Mylapore based PS. Higher Secondary School, Mr. Kala, expressed his thoughts and spoke about how safety is very important for the school student these days. He added that the main reason why school kids need mobile phone is for their parents to be in touch with them. Moving with the times is very important and having mobile phone is a necessity and this was also confirmed by the principal.

Information collected is PS. School along with other schools like Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School and Chettinad Hari Shri Vidhyalayam have been allowing their school students to carry mobile phones with them to the schools. The important conditions put by the schools are the students must hand their mobile phones to their teachers, switch off their mobiles during the class hours. In addition to this, only higher secondary class students could bring their mobile phones.

Principal of Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam, Gowri Sivashankar, spoke about how the parents who want to give mobile phones to their children must give it in writing. Only then, the students would be allowed to carry their mobile phones. She later explained about how the students must deposit their mobiles with the teachers during the class hours. The students would not be allowed to use their mobiles during the class hours.

Information is students belonging to the popular Sishya School were allowed to use their mobile phones but with a condition. The students must deposit their gadgets either at the school office or with their class teachers and at the end of the day the mobile phones would be handed over back to the respective students.

In Injambakkam in Chennai is located Vael’s International and the principal C. Bharathi Lakshmi spoke about how the students come from faraway places and how they need mobile phones. She finally threw light on how select students were allowed to bring mobile phones with them. By this, the parents would feel relieved. It is important to note that there are some schools in Chennai that stick to their no-mobile policy for the students. The main purpose of this no-mobile policy was to prevent distraction or misuse. Some schools have their own telephones and students could use those during emergencies.
