In a few weeks time, two e-buses would be plying in the city of Chennai and routes are being worked out now for this. It is revealed that e-buses would be superb in reducing the pollution.
On Tuesday, in the Assembly, Mr. M.R. Vijayabhaskar, state transport minister, replied to the questions about the pollution and its harmful effects in Chennai city. He spoke about how Ashok Leyland had planned to roll out 2 electric buses. This popular company would roll these 2 e-buses at its own cost for MTC.
Point is government order or GO has been passed on Monday to this effect allowing Ashok Leyland to operate in the city of Chennai. On trial basis, 2 9 m air-conditioned e-buses would be operated and this was as per the GO. It is worthy to mention here that one e-bus would come with battery swap technology and other e-bus would come with fast charging one.
In the name of Ashok Leyland, both the e-buses would be registered. It should be taken into account that Ashok Leyland would play its role in providing drivers and conductors for the e-buses and the collection would be remitted to the city transport corporation. Information collected is this is independent of the plans to introduce e-buses under C-40 Cities Climate Leadership.
