Electric auto in Chennai is making many heads turn

Residents belonging to the Chennai city must thank Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan who is the chairman of Makkal Auto, a private auto rickshaw service provider. 

The sensational information is this Makkal Auto has launched an electric auto in the city of Chennai on Sunday, 25th August 2019.

It must be noted that this fully converted electric auto was flagged off on Sunday by Mr. Munish Sharma, Trade Commissioner and Consul (Commercial), Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). There were also many delegates belonging to the office of the Australian Trade Commissioner who made their presence felt.

Makkal Auto, chairman Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan spoke about how this auto is first of its kind in Chennai city and it was retro fitted with electric motor by converting the old conventional petrol auto. The transport department gave its approval for this. He explained how at full charge, the newly converted electric auto would be able to run a maximum of 100 km. Point is full charge could be done one to three hours.

It is superb to note that Makkal Auto would launch as many as 100 electric autos by the end of this 2019 depending on the success of the electric auto. Later, the Australian officials were taken to the popular Kapaleeswarar temple located at Mylapore in this electric auto.
