At Chennai airport, many domestic flights cut now due to lack of patronage

The lack of patronage has been an issue now and due to this reason the domestic flights have been cancelled at the Chennai airport. This has been brought out by some officials of Chennai airport. Less than half the number of passengers present have made the authorities to cancel the flights from Chennai to many places.
Flights from Chennai to places like New Delhi and Port Blair had reasonable amount of passengers and the passenger traffic has been much lower now than usual. On Wednesday, 42 flight services were operated but on Thursday the number of flight services was reduced to 38 due to the lack of passengers. On Thursday, just 19 departures and 19 arrivals of flights were scheduled.
An official later mentioned that less than 50 passengers were present in many flights and these flights operated for the sake of these passengers. On Wednesday, flights were operated from Chennai to Salem and Kudappah but yesterday both these flight services were cancelled.
