More flights from Chennai to other cities in India from July onwards

For those who want to go to other cities in India from Chennai by flights, here comes a superb piece of news.
More flights would be operated from Chennai airport to other cities in India from the month of July. The decision was taken at the high level meeting that took place between AAI or Airport Authority of India and the officials belonging to the TN government. It is revealed that there would be more flights from Chennai to places like Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati etc.
According to an official belonging to AAI, the TN government has asked AAI to chalk out a plan and provide details on the number of flights being operated by other states and the destinations being served by these flights. He added that in this week the list would be provided to the TN government.
Point is, depending on the data the number of flights operated from Chennai is likely to increase. The AAI officials have mentioned that the TN government had enquired about the flights operated under Vande Bharat Mission, about the various arrangements made for the passengers on their arrival and about the need for additional facilities. For more than a month now, repatriation flights are being operated to and from Chennai.
In the past, when everything was normal, Chennai airport was handling around 500 flights every day but after resuming the flight services in May after weeks of lockdown, Chennai airport has been handling just 45 to 50 flights in a day till recently.
