Chennai traffic diversions for the Independence Day rehearsals

Independence Day is an important day and it falls on 15th August and on this day there would be flag hoisting ceremony plus other activities like parades and many cultural events etc. The rehearsals have been going on in full flow at St George Fort to make this day very special.

There would be curbs in the movement of the traffic on 8th August, 10th August and 13th August and this would be till the end of the rehearsals. The traffic diversions have been announced by the traffic police. It is now mentioned that the Kamarajar Salai from Napier Bridge to RBI Subway North on Rajaji Salai and Flag Staff Salai would be closed for all vehicular traffic.

Important information is those vehicles from Kamarajar Salai and intending to go towards Parry’s Corner via Rajaji Salai might have to take route via Swami Sivanandha Salai Anna Salai, Muthuswamy Bridge, Muthuswamy Salai, R.A Mandram and North fort Salai to reach to reach Parry’s Corner.

Route via North Fort Salai, R. A. Mandram, Muthuswamy Salai, Muthuswamy Bridge, Anna Salai and Wallajah Salai would be taken by the vehicles coming from the Rajaji Salai and intending to go towards Kamarajar Salai via Rajaji Salai to reach Kamarajar Salai.

 Information collected is vehicles coming from Muthuswamy Bridge/ Anna Salai and intending to proceed towards Parry’s Corner/ Kamarajar Salai via Flagstaff Salai might take the route via Muthuswamy Bridge, Muthuswamy Salai, R. A. Mandram and NFS to reach Parry’s Corner and Anna Salai, Wallajah Salai to reach Kamarajar Salai.
