The children and students between the age 1and 19 would be given albendazole tablets.
There are many urban health primary centres and ICDS anganwadi centres in Chennai city. It is now said that the tablets would be issued at these centres across the Chennai city. The release from the Chennai Corporation also mentioned about the tablets that would be given to the left out children on 28th September.
Truth is the anganwadi workers have been given training regarding the distribution of the de-worming tablets. The intake of de-worming tablets would prevent anaemia in the children. It is clear that in the deworming drive in Chennai city around 18.6 lakhs children would be benefited.
It is known that deworming is a process used to kill tapeworms, roundworms and hookworms. These worms infest the bodies of the children. By consuming albendazole tablets, the muscles of the worms get paralysed and the worms come out.
