Vandalur zoological park to reopen today after a 7 months gap

Arignar Anna Zoological Park, located in Vandalur, near Chennai remained closed after the outbreak and the spread of the raging coronavirus pandemic since last March. The Zoological Park is now all set to open from today (Wednesday, 11th November) after a rather long gap of over 8 months.

Arignar Anna Zoological Park, located in |Vandalur, near Chennai hosts various species of over 2704 creatures including 471 mammals,1820 kinds of birds, 413 kinds of reptiles including snakes, crocodiles, etc.

As a preventive measure to control the spread of the raging coronavirus pandemic, this zoological park was closed on 17th |March. In the present situation when the pandemic situation is brought under better control, the State Government of Tami Nadu has allowed Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur to reopen today (Wednesday, 11th November).

The visitors can reserve the tickets in advance visiting the website www.tickets.aazp.in or through the cell-phone App Vandalur Zoo. Most of the sections in the zoological park will be open for the public.  However, as strict social distancing norm has to be maintained, there will be no provision for the visitors to get too close to the animals.

The visitors will be allowed only after a check-up on body temperature. Foot-operated hand sanitizers have been set up at various locations in the park for washing/cleaning hands at regular intervals. All vehicles will be allowed only after the tyres are sprayed with disinfectants.

Facial Masks Mandatory: All the visitors MUST wear facial masks! Those without facial masks WI NOT BE PERMITTED IN! However, masks are sold at the entrance at reasonable profitless-price. Another important point is that those who fail to observe the health guidelines WILL BE FINED!”
