Residents wading through 2ft deep water in many Chennai streets have become common now!!

The Cyclone Nivar has made its landfall 2 days back and the issues are not yet over for the residents of Chennai. There are many streets in Chennai with lots of water but the main roads have come back to normal.

In CRR Puram in Virugambakkam in Chennai, the residents have been facing lots of issues as 50 houses in the locality are marooned and the water hasn’t yet drained off the streets. Here, the residents use their buckets to drain water onto the streets.

It was pointed out by a resident that until noon on Friday GCC has not pumped out water. He threw light on the drain water that has been seeping inside the houses and the skin infections it has brought to the residents. Truth is that despite being near to the bus terminus this situation is present here. He added that the water from the neighbourhood area Illango Nagar is being drained here.

The knee deep water in Kilpauk has been making the lives of the residents tough. The same situation is present in places like Adyar, Velachery, Choolaimedu, Arumbakkam, K.K. Nagar etc now after the rains.
