In the future, Chennai residents might come across repaired and upgraded roads, pavements, a new fish market plus few others.
The news that has come out now is that an amount of Rs 300 crores would be used to upgrade the roads and pavements in Chennai. This was according to the municipal administration minister Mr.. K.N. Nehru. He brought out that the redesigned pavements and roads would be laid in 6 places and funding would be received from the World Bank.
The minister at the Assembly yesterday spoke about how Rs 500 crores has been allotted to improve the infrastructure in the local bodies that were absorbed by GCC. He hinted about setting up a modern fish market at Loop Road in Pattinapakkam. An amount of Rs 10.75 crores would be spent on this and it would be beneficial for customers as well as the fishermen. New storm water rains or SWD would be built replacing the old ones at a cost of Rs 120 crores.
