In the year 2019, SmartBikes were launched in Chennai by GCC and they made sensational news.
Now, this initiative is facing issues as many users of these SmartBikes have been complaining about several things regarding using these bikes.
It was brought to light by some users that despite navigating through SmartBike applications according to the instructions on the mobile phone, issues in the apps and network etc force the users to give up. According to an IT professional residing in Mylapore, it was clear that he has been using a smart bike ever since it was introduced in Chennai as it was highly efficient. He then said that he had even recommended the Smart bikes to some of his friends too. Point is that the present condition of the Smart Bikes has been poor.
Mr. Ravi then mentioned that he was physically unable to unlock the SmartBikes parked at the docking station. It must be noted that the SmartBike application would allow the users to scan only if there was a minimum amount of Rs 50 in the account.
The shocking piece of information is that even without using the smart Bike Rs 6 has been deducted from the accounts of the users. This issue happened at Saidapet metro station. It is worthy to note that most metro stations in Chennai did not have smart Bikes parked at the docking station and those parked cannot be unlocked.
As per a college student in Chennai, she was unable to unlock the Smart Bike that she scanned at the Koyambedu metro station.
