Just like the lives of humans, lives of animals are also very important!!
Reflective collars would be put on the community animals and by this the number of stray animals hit by speeding vehicles at the night time would be reduced.
Mr. Roberts, a volunteer of PFCI or people for cattle in India spoke about how he and his team would be collaring more friendly dogs. It is sensational to mention here that he has been feeding 80 dogs in his locality for about 7 years. Point is that in the year 2016 Magic Collar Campaign was launched to put reflective collars around the neck of community animals.
The Coronavirus infection pandemic has slowed down the work of this campaign but in 2022 the campaign is back in full stream. This was according to Mr. Roberts.
Mr. G. Arun Prasanna founder of PFCI threw light on how in June it was started and how reflective collars were put around the necks of 50 dogs in Madipakkam in Chennai. He added that PFCI aims in putting reflective collars for 4000 to 5000 dogs and 500 cattle in Chennai. It is known that the number of animals on the roads in Chennai have become more now and there are more accidents also involving these animals. In Chennai now, there are nearly 200 volunteers present now as many came forward to feed the community animals in the lock down. Since all of them are familiar with the animals in their localities, the process of providing reflective collars for these animals would be easy.
