All Omni Bus Owners Association or AOBOA and TN Omni Bus Owners Association have released a revised fare chart now. This has caught the attention of many. It is known that the passengers have complained about huge ticket fares in the omni buses recently. The fares have been reduced by 10% to 20%.

Two days after the transport minister requested to reduce the ticket fares in the omni buses in TN, the revised fare chart was handed over to the Transport Commissioner yesterday.

The omni bus owners released a fare chart on 21st of september but the fares were found to be high by many passengers.

The ticket fares for the travel between Chennai and Madurai would be Rs  1776 to Rs 2688 and this would be based on the bus type like air-conditioned or  non-a/c, sleeper or seater etc. Point is that previously the fare ranged between Rs 1930 to Rs 3070. Compared to the previous fare between Rs 2050 and Rs 3310, the fare now for travelling from Chennai to Coimbatore is Rs 1815 to Rs 3025.

Mr.A. Anbalagan, president of AOBOA expressed his thoughts and spoke about how the omni bus fares have been reduced by 20percent after the meeting with the transport minister on 28th of September. He shed light on how revoised rate has been handed over to the transport commissioner. The omni buses are operated under the contract carriage permit and the TN govt does not have rights to fix bus fares for these buses.
