The Chennai residents would feel doubly delighted during the upcoming Pongal festival!!
In under 60 days, the bus terminus at Kilambakkam that could accommodate 2350 buses would become functional by the Pongal festival. This was mentioned by Mr. S. Muthuswamy, minister for housing and urban development.
The construction works at Kilambakkam have been going on in full flow now and it was inspected by ministers like Mr. Anbarasan, Mr. Muthuswamy and by the collector of Chengalpet district Mr. Rahul Nath.
It has been brought to light that now 82percent of the construction was completed regarding the bus terminus. The entire work would get over in another 60 days and the new bus terminus would be opened for the public by Pongal.
To connect the bus depot with highways, a flyover might be constructed and for that talks have been going on now with the department of Highways. It must be noted that a railway station in the proximity has been planned to help public travelling in EMUs.
