For the daily routine and safe transport of the public, it is necessary that the roads must be good!!
Funds from various schemes and projects etc would be utilized for upgrading more than 20000 km of roads across the state of Tamil Nadu. This was announced by the chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin on Wednesday, 19th October 2022. Soon, the Tamil Nadu government would be upgrading every damaged road.
It was brought out by the CM that roads present in GCC and in other corporations, municipalities and town panchayats etc would be upgraded at the earliest under rule 110 of the Assembly. He spoke about how goods roads are essential for the daily routine of the public and for safe transportation etc. For upgrading 4600 kms of roads in this year, an amount of Rs 2200 crores was allotted. At an estimated cost of Rs 7388 crores, 16390 kms of roads would be upgraded in a phased manner. The funds would be received from Singara Chennai 2.0, State Finance Commission Subsidy Scheme Fund, Kalaignar Urban Development Scheme and NABARD fund etc.
The CM later revealed that at a cost of Rs 800 crores, 6000 new classrooms would be built for the panchayat union primary and middle schools and 1200 classrooms for high and higher secondary schools at a cost of Rs 250 crores. For school maintenance, Rs 150 crores has been earmarked by the government. School infrastructure would get strengthened plus a safe learning environment for the government school students would be created by building additional classrooms etc
