ABC - How Meenambakkam and Sholinganallur would be playing a huge role?

If you have been bitten by a ferocious stray dog in your locality, don`t worry you are not alone!!
Stray dog menace has been creating so many issues for the residents belonging to Chennaii. People get bitten by these dogs everyday. It is true that the population of these dogs have become more now in the city.
Now, GCC wants to make Chennai rabies free and for that the civic body authorities would be constructing 2 more ABC or animal birth control centres at places like Meenambakkma and Sholinganallur etc. Funds for building ABC would be provided by TUFIDCO. In Chennai, places like Pulianthope, Kannamapet and Lloyds Colony have already got ABC is known to us. These centers control the population of stray dogs.
The new ABC centres at Meenambakkam & Sholinganallur( both constructions nearing completion now) would have 14 and 10 rooms respectively. The 2 upcoming ABC centres would have a veterinary room, dog kennels and an operation theatre. Contact veterinarians and staff under National Urban Livelihood Movement or NULM need to be engaged at these 2 new upcoming centres in Chennai. These 2 centres must have adequate dog foods, medical equipment etc for smooth functioning and for that the staff have been given instructions.
