The drinking water pipeline linking work is planned under the Ramapuram Extended Drinking Water Distribution Plan. As a result, drinking water distribution will be stopped in seven zones in Chennai Metro City tomorrow (Sunday, 28th May) from 6.00 AM for 24 hours.

In a notification released by the Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB), the following information is provided:

"Under the Ramapuram Extended Drinking Water Distribution Plan, the main work involves linking the 700 mm diameter drawing water pipeline in the Kurinji Nagar lower water reservoir with the 1500 mm diameter main pipeline at the Mount Poonamallee Road Junction of Santhi Colony and DLF. Consequently, drinking water distribution will be halted from 6.00 AM on Sunday, 28th May, until 6.00 AM on Monday, 29th May, in the following seven zones: Ambattur, Anna Nagar, Teynampet, Kodambakkam, Valasarawalkam, Alandur, and Adyar.

The public is advised to store sufficient drinking water as a precautionary measure. In case of emergency water requirements, individuals can contact the website https://chennaimetrowater.tn.gov.in and register to procure drinking water supply by lorries.

Furthermore, for areas without drinking water supply facilities and areas experiencing low pressure in drinking water pipelines, drinking water will continue to be supplied as usual through water tanks and lorries."
