Superb news!! Construction of double decker elevated highway between Port and Maduravoyal to be completed soon!!

The Chairman of Chennai Port Mr. Sunil Paliwal has informed now that the work on the 20.6km double decker elevated highway between Port and Maduravoyal would be completed in another 2 and half years. These works would be carried out at a cost of Rs 5855 crores. The sources have made it clear that the tender for the work has been awarded.
The chairman then spoke about how the cruise ship services were launched in 2022 and how the initiative was warmly received by the people. He hinted that international cruises were launched earlier in 2023.Nearly 12000 saplings have been planted at the Port premises to increase the green cover and the port would be transformed.
Details about the school run by Port Authority:
In Tondiarpet, Port Authority has been running a higher secondary school and steps have been taken to reduce the tution fees of the students in the school by two thirds. From Rs 15000, the annual tuition fee would be reduced to about Rs 5000. On the behalf of Port, free school uniforms, books and shoes etc are being provided to the students. The number of students has increased to 780 in this academic year from 484 in the previous academic year.
