Those who are on the lookout for easy online jobs or trying to earn quick money by online trade etc, better be careful!!

It is really sad that many of us fall prey to the cyber criminals these days to get quick money. This includes not only those who are under-educated but also those who are highly educated too.

The Chennai cybercrimes dept has made it clear that 122 complaints have been received from the public who have lost their hard earned money to the cyber criminals. It is surprising that software professionals and experienced traders etc are also included in this category as they have lost money in crores.

It must be noted that a software engineer lost Rs 64 lakhs as she fell prey to an online part time job scam. In the same way, an experienced trader lost his money to the online scam. The trader spoke about how the amount of Rs 6 cr was a huge loss. He added that he was having sleepless nights as he allowed himself to be cheated.  Truth is that the cyber criminals have taken full control of the WFH model and have used it as bait to catch the people.

According to a cyber crime police, about 855 of the complaints the dept received were from people belonging to educated backgrounds and women who enter WFH to support their families.

It was revealed by the assistant commissioner of police, cyber crime wing K. Kiruthika that from the recruitment sites only most of the victim`s data is obtained. She threw light on how most victims were women who were looking for some opportunities to support their families. She concluded that only in scams the public would be asked to pay for the jobs or to receive returns etc.
