Not many would have expected Cyclone Michaung to create destruction of such magnitude in Chennai. It is true that the cyclone has thrown the lives out of gear in the city. The machinery of the TN govt has failed to provide timely assistance and this was mentioned by many residents.

In this scenario, the Union minister Mr. Rajnath Singh and MoS L Murugan would take an aerial survey of the areas that were affected badly by the floods. They would be discussing about eh cyclone relief works with the CM of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin on Thursday. This was mentioned by some sources.

According to Mr. D. Karthikeyan, municipal administration and water supply secretary, it was clear that as many as 471 areas have been worst affected by Cyclone Michaung. He spoke about how many residents in Chennai were unhappy about the non supply of food, milk etc and were looking out for choppers to distribute these.

In the localities such as Madipakkam, Mudichur, Maduravoyal, West Tambaram, Nolambur, Kundrathur, Velachery, Sholinganallur, Perumbakkam, Navalur and Pallikaranai etc, open terraces were the only area that was considered safe.

For the fourth day yesterday, many wards belonging to both north and central Chennai suffered without power supply.
