Vande Bharat, recognized as the fastest train in the country, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in 2019, connecting New Delhi and Varanasi. Subsequently, over 45 Vande Bharat trains now operate on diverse routes across the nation.
Specifically, Vande Bharat trains operate in the Southern Railway on routes such as Chennai Central - Coimbatore, Chennai Central - Mysore, Chennai Central - Vijayawada, Chennai Egmore - Tirunelveli, and Thiruvananthapuram - Kasaragod, garnering positive feedback from passengers.
Chennai Railway Division officials highlighted the impressive reception of these four Vande Bharat trains, with a notable 303,469 passengers traveling in both directions during October and November. Currently, a Vande Bharat Special Train is operational in the South District, and plans are underway to introduce additional Vande Bharat trains based on the analysis of routes with the highest passenger demand.
