A new viral fever like Chikungunya has been spreading in Chennai. Once a person is infected with this fever, there will be inflammation in his hands and legs. It is understood that people are not able to walk and they are carried to hospitals. Though symptoms seem to be like Chikungunya, it is negative in the blood tests. Some people are also treated for this fever in private nursing homes.
The fever will persist for three days and after this the pains in the legs and hands come down. Mosquitoes are breeding very heavily in Tamilnadu even before the monsoon begins. The Corporation is also taking heavy steps to put an end to the mosquitoes breeding menace. In spite of this there are viral fever throughout various parts in Chennai.
