Implementing Blue Flag programme at Marina Beach, development of Amma canteens etc- Projects worth Rs 280 crores in Chennai!!
The sensational piece of information is that Mr. Udayanidhi Stalin, deputy chief minister of TN has laid the foundation stone for several projects worth Rs 279.5 crores. He announced about the projects that included blue flag beach programme implementation at Marina Beach, development of 291 Amma canteens and water bodies renovation etc in Chennai. These would be implemented by the GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation.
The project for name boards for the entrance roads of Chennai at 3 locations would also be initiated by the civic body.
It must be noted that the name boards of as many as 7000 streets in Chennai would be replaced in 2 phases. In Chennai, primary health centres or PHC`s would be constructed.
In south Chennai based Saidapet, there is a market that has been in dilapadated condition for a long time. It is now mentioned that this market would be renovated. Point is that these important works would be carried out in Chennai at a cost of Rs 279.5 crores.
It is worthy to mention that Mr. Udayanidhi Stalin has inaugurated several projects belonging to the GCC. These include inauguration of animal birth control centres in places like Pulianthope, Lloyds Colony and Meenambakkam, inauguration of 2 renovated water bodies and atleast 8 playgrounds. In addition to these, 2 new parks and health centres etc were also opened for the residents.
It is superb to note that on a compassionate basis appointment orders have been issued for 106 persons.
Various important personalities who were part of the event were Mr. KN. Nehru, municipal administration minister, Mr. TN. Anbarasan, minister for MSME, Mr. M. Subramanian, health minister, Chennai Mayor Priya plus central Chennai MP Mr. Udayanidhi Maran, deputy Mayor Mr. Mahesh Kumar etc.
