The renovation of Valluvar Kottam, a historic monument dedicated to Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar, is in its final stages and is expected to reopen to the public by early March.

According to Public Works Department (PWD) officials, nearly 90% of the ₹80-crore project has been completed, with final Stapathi works underway.

Key Upgrades:

- Air-conditioned auditorium (1,600-seat capacity)
- Seminar hall with a library (1,000+ books)
- Revamped Kural Manimadam (1,330 Tirukkural verses with 133 paintings)
- Renovated stone chariot terrace with ornamental pillars & lighting
- New sound and light show (20-minute program)
