The Chennai city landscape would get transformed by the multimodal commercial hub at Broadway along with the 27 storey central tower. This would happen by the year 2027. Sound`s incredible isn`t it!!
The news is that in a few months Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited which is a special purpose vehicle of CMRL would begin work on the multi modal hub at Broadway in north Chennai.
Information gathered is that the multi modal complex would come up on an area of 4.42 acres and it would have a 9 storey multi modal complex facility building and Kuralagam building apart from the bus terminus, commercial space and metro connectivity.
There would be 2 basements and parking space for two wheelers and four wheelers in the nine storey building. In addition, there would also be a cloak room, lounges, ticketing area, waiting area, kiosks and other facilities etc. Point is that subways would connect the building to the High Court metro rail station and Kuralagam.
There would be bays for autos and buses in the ground floor and in the first floor for the commuters and second floors onwards would be used as office spaces/ commercial establishments etc.
It was mentioned by an official that next to the multi modal complex would be a 10 storey structure that would have Kuralagam and there would be an additional commercial space along with it. He added that the contract would be finalised in a couple of weeks.
