Industry oriented courses have been rolled out by IIT-M under SWAYAM plus platform. It is now said that this would bridge the gap between academic learning and real world employment for the students.
Shift in higher education landscape:
It is noteworthy that these specially designed courses (for job readiness and professional competence) mark a pivotal shift in India`s higher education landscape. These courses have been designed to foster practical skills and industry exposure for both students as well as professionals.
The superb piece of information is that IIT has joined hands with some popular Higher Educational institutions or HEI`s like Sathyabhama University, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Sri Venkateswara University and Vinayaka Mission Law School etc. It is now brought out that these collaborations with HEI`s would aim to embed SWAYAM plus courses in their academic curriculum. This would help the students to gain credits and acquire skills that are directly applicable in today`s job market. In addition, IITM has also joined hands with top industry players like Veranda learning solutions and NSE academy etc.
The main objective behind these collaborations would be to make sure that the course content remains dynamic, practical and in sync with the current market demands.
Point to be noted is SWAYAM plus platform currently offers more than 350 carefully curated courses belonging to diverse sectors like engineering, computer science, healthcare, finance, management and manufacturing etc.
