Emergency care centre set up at Chrompet last year was a huge success and as the next stage of development, the Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project together with the Emergency Management Research Institute is drawing up a plan to launch similar centre at Padianallur, Redhills, benefitting the public in northern areas of the city.

These centres are aimed at cut shorting the travel times in ambulances and avail first aid procedures to the patients. Just like the Chrompet centre, the Red hills emergency care centre will also be a 4-bedded one incorporating all advanced emergency medical facilities. It will have one doctor, 3 paramedics and an emergency medical technician working 24 * 7 in 3 shifts.

“The infrastructure is in place and the centre will get inaugurated very soon,” officials stated. Patients will be taken for the treatment in the 108 ambulance. Further to the first aid procedures, after looking into the patient’s condition, he or she will be taken home or hospital accordingly.
