Modem rentals revised by BSNL

Monthly rental charges for basic and wi-fi modems for existing and new broadband customers have been revised by BSNL. The new charges apply from April 1.The monthly rentals for ADSL basic modem are up at Rs. 70 from the Rs. 50 (for 24 months) and Rs. 25 beyond that, for ADSL wi-fi modem up at Rs. 110 from Rs. 80 for 24 months and Rs. 40 after that, for ADSL wi-fi TA modem up at Rs. 130 from Rs. 100 for 24 months and Rs. 50 beyond that and for VDSL wi-fi modem up at Rs. 150 from Rs. 130 and Rs. 65.
The revised charges would affect only a small proportion of users as a majority of broadband subscribers have opted for outright purchase of the modem.
