As per the worked out plan of the Chennai Corporation for this summer, the extent of the planned power cuts has been brought down to five hours from eight hours, pointed by the TANGEDCO, senior official.

Because of yield of about 1,200 MW and 750 MW power from both the new thermal plants including North Chennai Thermal Power Station (NCTPS) and Vallur Thermal Power Project respectively, has deliberately reduce the state’s scarcity of over 2000 MW.

The integration of the southern grids and northern grids along with the authorization of the Raichur-Sholapur transmission line with a potency of about 765 KV facilitates the alternative choice of drawing from the power-redundant States; hence residents may feel a pleasant summer this year, confidently expressed by an official of the Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO).
