City gets safer to drive with more speed-breakers and signages

The city received several newly laid roads and widening works were carried out at major places. However, driving along these roads might seem difficult as over 100 speed breakers are laid too. Roads including Bazullah road in T nagar, Besant Avenue in Besant Nagar, Postal Colony in West Mambalam, etc are among the roads with new speed breakers.
Furthermore, caution boards will be erected 30 meters ahead. All these are must for a road design. These are getting implemented in our city for the very first time. These signages are made of reflective type so that drivers can get alerted during night time too. The first phase of the project covers roads in north, central and south regions and is estimated to cost Rs 42 lakh. Corporation officials say these new speed-breakers are laid as per Indian Roads Congress guidelines and this will not be back breaking experience anymore.
