Special teams of doctors and special wards have been arranged in all government hospitals for the prompt treatment of all injuries due to fire or while bursting crackers.

This year, as an extra preventive measure, a special ward with 10 beds has been arranged at the Kilpauk government Hospital.

Doctors & nurses will be on duty throughout the 24 hours of the day.

Equipment and medicine required for immediate treatment are available.

Special arrangements have been at Rajiv Gandhi government general hospital, Royappettah government hospital, and Stanley government hospital for immediate treatment of patients with fire wounds by a team of doctors & nurses throughout 24 hours.

The majority of the patients coming for treatment are with injuries on hand while bursting crackers. Hence, it is better to follow the safest way while bursting crackers.

It is better to pour water on the injured part immediately after the fire injury. Then only, the heat will subside and the depth of the wounds will be lessened. Then, wipe the part with a clean cloth, cover it and then proceed to the hospital for further treatment. Never pour ink on the injured part. Pouring ink will make it difficult to assess the severity of the injury.
