87 booked for drunken driving

87 people were booked in Chennai for drunken driving in a single night. In order to prevent criminal activities and to arrest absconding criminals, police conduct regular checks and searches. On Saturday night, the Chennai police conducted checks and searches in all areas of Chennai. During the vehicle cheek, 87 persons were found to be drunk. They were booked under drunken driving case. Searches were also made in private guest houses and hotels. 808 people who were found doubtful were enquired. Some of the absconding criminals were arrested.
