The recently introduced sale of low-priced cell phones in Tamil Nadu Post Offices has become hugely popular.
Within a few weeks, 5000 cell phones were sold.
Indian Postal Department has been introduced various attractive & popular schemes in tune with the changing times.
Selling of different brands of cell phones is one of the recent introductions.
Sale of cell phones was introduced in all the Head Post Offices and other important post offices throughout Tamil Nadu from the 2nd week of March. Public response has been tremendous!
On similar lines, the sale of small refrigerator, ‘chotucool’, at the Post Offices, has also increased.
Small (‘petty’) shop owners, students sharing accommodation in a single flat or house, and software techies buy it whole-heartedly. An additional feature of this ‘chotucool’ is that it can operate through the inverters also. They are available in different colours and sold at Rs. 5300/- to Rs. 6000/-.
Solar-powered lights are also sold at Rs. 500/- onward.
New scheme for college books!
Special camps are to be organised for introduction of a new scheme. For the benefit of the ‘Distance Learning’ students who pursue courses at Anna University or IIT, Post Offices have taken up the service of getting the books neatly & safely packed and delivering them to the exact address of the students.
