Southwest Monsoon rains to lash from 1st June

An official of Indian Meteorological Department has mentioned that Southwest Monsoon rains will begin from 1st June. Major portions of country receive rains only during the Southwest Monsoon. Agricultural crops are depending on these rains. Last year there was 12% deficit in the southwest monsoon rains.
Because of this, the crops were affected. Now the Meteorological Department has forecasted that the southwest monsoon rains will begin on 1st June. It has also been mentioned that there will be less rains this year also.
