Onam season successful for Co-Optex

The Co-Optex has been doing well for the Onam season. Known as Co-Optex, the actual name is Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers` Cooperative Society. This weekend, the Society has received Rs. 4 crore as nett revenue. They have held exhibitions around the city, and showcased Kasavu and Mundu saris that are popular for the season. They have also sold products for men. 

Say officials, `There has been a big demand for the mundu sets. To attract customers Co-optex launched a special series of embroidered Kasavu saris and handloom saris with simple borders. It also introduced `mubagam` (three parts with three different colours) saris. Co-optex also targeted men exclusively. The silk shirts are a hit with the customers in Kerala. The beige coloured silk shirts are in demand this season.`
