Chennai Corporation Council convenes

The Mayor of Chennai Saidai S.Duraiswamy convened the Chennai Corporation Council on Monday and passed more than 75 resolutions. These included welfare measures, development and routine civic works.
During the session`s question and answer session, there were discussions on the preparations made by the Corporation for the monsoons this year. According to the discussion, suction pumps were stationed in all subways and low lying and flood prone areas in the city. This would help remove excess water if and when needed.
The Mayor also commended the team of Amma canteens which had won the ‘Best Practices’ award for 2015.
