The All India Bank Employees Association has announced that a one-day strike will be held on 8th January as a sign of protest against the Bharat State Bank that is functioning infringing the contract.

Speaking about this, the General Secretary of the All India Bank Employees Association, C.H. Venkatachalam said an agreement was signed between the Indian Banks Association and the All India Bank Employees Association in May 2015 on grounds of salary increment and salary specifications. But the State Bank of India seems to function breaking the agreement in all its five supporting branches.

The Deputy Chief Labor Commissioner intervened aiming to sort out the issue. However, the State Bank is stubborn on its stand and continues to function in the same way. Hence, protesting all these moves by the bank, all bank employees will get indulged in a one-day strike on 8th January 2016.

He added that the strike will involve bank employees of public sector banks, old generation private banks and foreign bank employees.
