Bank Loans plans for Micro & Small Industries affected by recent floods: CM inaugurates today

The recent incessant rains and floods during December caused havoc in several 5 districts in the state including Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore, and Villupuram,

The small & micro-scale industries suffered greatly by the flood.

The equipment and machineries kept at the ground level were all damaged and the loss was worth several lakhs of Rupees.

Hence, a pressing demand was made that Tamil Nadu government should come forward to help the small & micro industry owners.

Tamil Nadu state Chief Minister Jayalalithaa accepted this demand and declared a new scheme Amma micro-industry loans facility scheme.

She released a report offering several schemes to help the small & micro-industry owners to recover from their recent losses in the floods.

With this scheme, the micro & small scale industries can get interest-free loans for Rs. 5000/-.through Central cooperative banks & city cooperative banks. The interest of 11 percent to be paid for this loan will be borne by the state government of Tamil Nadu.

Street sellers who sell flowers, fruits, vegetable food items in the streets push-cart traders, and petty-shop owners can avail this loan scheme.

They can enjoy the excellent benefit of paying this loan back in very small monthly  installments of Rs. 200/- over a period of 25 months.

The traders who pay back the money within the given time would be entitles to get another loan at a nominal interest of 4 percent.

The proposed scheme which would indeed be very beneficial to the small & micro industry owners affected by the flood, is set to be inaugurated today (22nd January, Friday).

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa will inaugurate the scheme at the Secretariat distributing the loans to the beneficiaries.

Following this, special camps will be conducted for these beneficiaries to get the loans in simple and fast manner. 500 special camps are planned to be organised throughout Tamil Nadu.
