Incessant showers leave the city irked

As the city sees incessant rain showers, motorists seem irked, combating heavy traffic across roads. There was increased inflow of vehicles from GST road as working men and women had to march down to their offices after exercising franchise. The arterial roads of the city experienced much of this cascading effect prevailing in Chennai city.

One of the badly affected roads is the Poonamallee high road. And the Porur junction saw snail paced movements of vehicles. Those working in DLF in IT and ITES sectors had to be patient enough to arrive at their destined locations.

There were reports that the Villivakkam subway had knee height stagnant water, while most subways in the city are manned with policemen. There were reports of similar incidents in other subways as well.

Most of the radio taxi drivers and those working based on mobile apps stay away from taking rides, as they fear of getting stuck in the heavy traffic.

Heavy rain showers have caused the potholes in the city crop up and this has left motorists, especially two wheelers struggle on the bumpy roads; worsening the scenario is water stagnation all over. There was a report of tree fall too which was subsequently cleared too.
