Following the recent heavy rains, the water level in one of the main drinking water supply sources for Chennai Metro City, Poondi reservoir, has gone up.
As the inflow of water coming to the lake has increased, the reservoir was receiving water at 1017 cft per second (Cubic feet per second).
The Poondi reservoir level has gone up to 20.60’.
It has a present capacity of 1079 million cft of water.
