Tomatoes price soar up

Vegetable vendors have mentioned that the prices of tomatoes have gone high because there is short supply from other states.
 
Tomatoes were sold between Rs 25 and Rs 35 during the last week of April at Koyambedu wholesale market and other local vegetable shops. Since there was short supply of tomatoes from other States, the prices are going high.
 
At this juncture the prices of tomatoes on Monday at the wholesale market were Rs 70 per kilo. In the retail shops, tomatoes were sold between Rs 80 and Rs 85 per kilo.

  • Tomatoes  - Rs 85
  • Onions -  Rs 20-Rs 25
  • Brinjals - Rs 15-Rs 25
  • Beans  - Rs 60
  • Carrot  - Rs 50
  • Bitter Gourd - Rs 48
  • Ladies Finger - Rs 40
  • Snake gourd - Rs 36
  • Potatoes  - Rs 35
  • Drumsticks  - Rs 60
  • Shallots  - Rs 40 – Rs 50
  • Green peas  - Rs 160
  • Cauliflower  - Rs 35-Rs 40
  • Broad beans - Rs 60
  • Cluster beans  - Rs 35
  • Beetroot  - Rs 45
