12 substations are being installed to manage power cuts

In order to manage the power shortage in Chennai, 12 substations are being installed. This work is going on in rapid pace. Officials of the TNEB say that this work will be completed within 6 months.
Because of the shortage of sub stations, the power generated could not be fully distributed. There are 2 Crores consumers in TNEB. The power generated by Thermal and hydropower stations, windmills, central and private power suppliers are being distributed through substations.
For this purpose, 400, 230, 110, 66 and 33 kilo volt capacity sub stations have been installed. In spite of this, the substations get repaired due to overload. Because of this there are sudden power cuts in various places. In order to resolve this problem, numerous sub stations are being installed in various places in Chennai and its suburbs.
