Reduction in veggies price at Koyambedu

Due to increase in supply, price of vegetables has reduced by 15 percent as compared to last week, say retailers.

There have been fluctuations in price of veggies in the Koyambedu market during the past few months. In the last week, price of drumstick, tomatoes, and beans were at peak. Now, these have got much lesser. Likewise, beetroot, chayote, broad beans, yam, bitter gourd, chilly, cauliflower, etc also saw hike in price.
 
Speaking about this, the consultant of Koyambedu wholesale market, Soundarajan said that there is significantly higher supply received in the market. Hence, tomatoes, drumstick, beans, etc have got reduced in price. On the whole, there is 15 percent decrease in price of vegetables this week. As the supply of coconut is increased too, its price has come down. A coconut has been sold for Rs 15 to 20, but the same is now sold for Rs 10 to 13.
